If This Sounds Like You

Wondering if it's really "that bad"?

Maybe you feel overwhelmed, like you are losing yourself in a relationship. Maybe you feel like no one understands you. Maybe you are too ashamed or afraid to say it out loud.

About 1 in 3 women experience domestic abuse in their lifetime, and many don't realize it while it's happening. Abuse is not only physical. Control, isolation and constant confusion count too.

Reach out, even if all you can say is, "I think I need help." Sometimes the hardest step is simply the first one.

Meet Your Coach

My name is Tami Heiss. I'm here for you.

I am a Domestic Abuse Victim Advocate and a Certified Life Coach through the International Coaching Federation, and I hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. I specialize in helping people who are in, or have come out of, abusive relationships.

My training covers trauma informed parenting, the fundamentals of trauma healing, domestic violence victim advocacy, abuser typologies and personality disorders, and how coercive control affects children.

I didn't go to college until my fifties. That taught me how much lifelong learning can change a life. I believe in coaching because it helped me, and I have watched it help so many others.

When I'm not reading books on psychology, I love scrapbooking and crocheting, when the grandkids give me a minute.

Let's begin this journey together.

Questions

Before You Reach Out

Is everything I share confidential?
Yes. Your privacy is a top priority. Sessions, messages and group conversations stay confidential, except where the law requires a report, such as child abuse or threats of harm.
Who do you work with?
Men and women healing from emotional, verbal or physical abuse. Whether you are finding your voice again, rebuilding your confidence or working toward a healthier path, there is a place for you. There is also an accountability group for men who have used abusive behaviors and are ready for real change.
How is coaching different from therapy?
Coaching focuses on your present and your future. It is not someone telling you what to do. It is a partnership that helps you discover your own solutions and take action on them.
How much does coaching cost?
Individual coaching is one hundred dollars an hour. Reach out to ask about the support groups and the men's program.
Is this a faith based program?
It is faith informed. Spiritual encouragement is there for those who want it, and clients from any background are welcome. You can share your beliefs and preferences so the support fits you.
Can I join a group online?
Yes. The women's support group meets both in person and online, so you can take part from wherever you feel safe.
How do I get started?
